On August 9, 2016, the Governor signed An Act Modernizing Municipal Finance and Government (the “Act”), which amends many laws related to municipal finance and governance.  The Act includes changes to three public bidding laws – M.G.L. c. 30B, M.G.L. c. 30, and M.G.L. c. 149.  The changes to the public bidding laws go into effect on November 7, 2016.

REQUEST FOR RESPONSE 366: SHEETS, TOWELS, & PILLOWCASES

Hampden County Sheriff’s Department
Sealed bids for sheets, towels, and pillowcases are to be delivered to the Sheriff’s Department Hampden Jail and House of Corrections, 627 Randall Road, Ludlow, MA 01056, and will be received until Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Sheriff’s Department Hampden Purchasing Department, Room 252, 627 Randall Road, Ludlow, MA 01056, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.  for specifications call 413-858-0119.  all bids submitted must be clearly marked in the lower left-hand corner of the envelope, “Bid number 366, Sheets, Towels, & Pillowcases, Submission Deadline: September 19, 2019, 2:00 PM.”

The contract will be awarded within 45 days unless the time for award is extended by mutual consent of the parties.

If any changes are made to this Request for Response (RFR), an addendum will be issued.  Addenda will be mailed or faxed to all bidders on record as having been issued the RFR.

Questions concerning the RFR must be submitted in writing to: Ann Speziali, 627 Randall Road, Ludlow, MA 01056 before 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2019.  Questions may be delivered, mailed, or faxed.  Written responses will be mailed or faxed to all bidders on record as having been issued the RFR.

Bidders should also include in their submission all additional forms that the vendor is directed to submit by the attachment “Sheriff’s Department Hampden instructions to bidders” found in the specification package.

Bidding procedures and award of contracts will be in accordance with Chapter 7 Section 22, of the Massachusetts General Laws, plus all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

GAS FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM

Formal Quotes for a Gas Fire Suppression System will be accepted by the Sheriff’s Department Hampden Jail and House of Corrections, 627 Randall Road, Ludlow, MA 01056,  until Thursday, September 19,  2019 at 2:00 PM.  Per M.G.L. c.30 §39M for Publics Work project. Sheriff’s Department Hampden is seeking formal quotes for replacement of existing system with a PEMALL “THE WATCHMAN 14” UL 1254 Fueling Station Fire Suppression System. Installation is to be performed by a Certified Installer. including all labor,  piping, fittings, cylinders, nozzles, seal tights, brackets, signage, thermal detectors, etc. in accordance with the system plans Project No:C19003; CAD #C19003FSPEMALL; 03/06/2019) as approved by the Ludlow Fire Department on 03/15/2019 .  Inspection of a new system and puff test as required by LFD are to be included in price.  Removal of the old system and piping is to be included.
